Iran likely to offer oil via its stock exchange in rial

TEHRAN, Nov. 18 (MNA) – The Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said Sun. that oil will probably be offered via stock exchange in Iranian national currency, rial.

The Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said Sunday that oil has been offered via Iranian stock exchange twice so far and the amounts that were offered were one million barrels each time.

Zanganeh added that there have been suggestions to offer oil in rial completely and the suggestions have been conveyed to the Supreme Council of Economic Coordination chaired by President Hassan Rouhani to be decided on.

With regard to the probable increase in the prices of gas next year, the minister said that there has not been any decision made on that yet.

Iran has announced that it will continue to sell its oil on the global markets despite US attempts to curb its oil revenues. The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has offered crude  to unknown buyers twice so far in a bid to circumvent the US sanctions.
