Iran finishes 3rd in 'Airborne Platoon' contest

TEHRAN, Aug. 11 (MNA) – Iran's airborne troops finished third at the Airborne Platoon contest of the International Army Games 2018, held in Pskov, Russia, on July 28.

During the 20-day competition, Iran's airborne troops competed with teams from ten countries and stood at the third place, along with Belarus, by winning 4 events, after the teams from Russia and China in the 1st and 2nd places, respectively.

The International Army Games, initiated by the Russian Ministry of Defense, is co-organized by Iran, China, Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Armenia this year.

Earlier, Iranian armed forces team finished second place at the Guardian of Order contest, after Russia.

Iran Navy team of divers managed to rank first at the Depth Competition of 2018 Intl. Army Games and break the previous records in two items – navigating through the obstacle course, and diver rescue, in Iranian city of Nowshahr.

The Iranian Navy’s lifesaving team of Iranian Army’s Navy also displayed their great skills and came first in the Sunken Ship contest as part of the International Army Games 2018.
