No justification to negotiate with US under current circumstances

TEHRAN, Aug. 07 (MNA) – Political Analyst Emad Afrough said that there is not any justification for negotiating with the United States at the condition that there is a wide political gap between Iran and US.

With regard to the recent proposal of US President Donald Trump for negotiating with the Islamic Republic of Iran amid exacerbation of pressures and sanctions against Iran as well as terms and conditions set by the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in this respect, he said, “as long as there is a wide political gap between Iran and the United States, establishing relationship with the US is meaningless, so that this statement is a clear example of US hostile policies against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Not only the US behavior towards the Iranian nation has not changed over the past 40 years, but also such behavior has been exacerbated, he said, adding, “with due observance to the said issue, holding talks with the United States at the current condition is null and void.”

“Iran will not establish any relationship with the United States since there is a wide difference of opinion between the two countries in several issues, “he quoted a historical statement uttered by the late Founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini (RA) as saying.

“In our nuclear talks with six world’s major powers and after the implementation of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Iran’s nuclear title, we witnessed US repeated violation of terms and conditions of nuclear deal and consequently, US pullout from JCPOA,” he criticized.

He emphasized, “in the current situation, US should prove that it lives up to its commitments and respects international relationship in practice.”
