Italy’s Ischia filmfest. to screen 2 Iranian films

TEHRAN, Jul. 04 (MNA) – Iranian feature ‘Kupal’ directed by Kazem Mollaie and short film ‘Limit’ by Javad Daraei have made it into the competition program of Ischia Film Festival in Italy.

'Kupal' narrates the story of a hunter and taxidermist who goes through an unfortunate incident by trapping himself in his basement with little food and no water, having to survive by using creative and desperate means. The storyline of Kupal and the tagline is, ‘you can’t be alone in this world!’

‘Limit’ is an 8-minute narrative of the life a man in a quiet neighborhood who asks for help from people whom he is seeing, until someone suddenly enters his home. Daraei’s second film deals with protecting the rights of people with disability.

10 features from US, Bulgaria, Russia, Dominican Republic, Italy, Canada and Iran will vie for the top prize at the 16th edition of Ischia Film Festival, while ‘Limit’ will take part in the short competition section of the event.

Iranian filmmaker Mehdi Fardghaderi, whose feature ‘Immortality’ won the festival’s Best Film award last year, is part of the jury panel at the event.

The 16th edition of Ischia Film Festival is being held from June 30 to July 7 in Italy.
