In their third match held on Tuesday, Iranian youth volleyball players won Sri Lanka team in straight sets (25-21, 25-17, 25-13).
The competition kicked off on June 29 at Iran’s Tabriz and will end on July 6.
“Sri Lanka is a good team with high motivation, but we play in our country and we had to manage the game in such a way to avoid any surprise; players were excited at the first set of the game, but over time and with the analysis that we had, we were able to control the match,” said Iran’s coach Mohammad Vakili.
Iran advanced to the knockout stage and will take on India on their next match on Wednesday.
