"Today, Iran is the haven of regional security, and the measures undertaken by the Islamic Republic of Iran in recent years have shown that we are looking for a peaceful, safe and stable region," said the Secretary of the Expediency Council and former IRGC commander Mohsen Rezaei.
The Iranian official made the remarks during his meeting with Li Jun, the Vice-Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, in the morning on Tuesday in Tehran.
Welcoming Mr. Jun and the senior delegation accompanying him, Mr. Rezaei referred to the excellent relationship between the two countries of the Islamic Republic of Iran and China, saying that “the visits made by the high-level delegations is promising the expansion of ties and brilliant future between the two countries.”
Appreciating the effective role of Mr. Xi Jinping, the leader of the ruling party in China, Mr. Rezaei stated, "The cohesion and close proximity of the two peoples of Iran and China have become better and more promising than the past."
Pointing to the achievements of the Islamic Revolution in the past four decades, the secretary of the expediency council highlighted Iran's effective role in ending the life and presence of extremist terrorists of ISIL group and said, "Today, Iran is a haven of regional security and the Islamic Republic's actions in recent years have shown that we are looking for a quiet, safe and stable region.”
Mr. Rezai noted the development of economy as one of the main priorities of Iran and said, “Strengthening of the domestic economy, along with the expansion of international economic cooperation, is the priority of the efforts of the officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
He pointing to the useful experience of the Islamic Republic of Iran in regional affairs, while announcing his readiness to share these experiences with other countries, including China, said, "We expect the friendly and brotherly country of China to play an active role for investment in and transferring economic experience to our country.”
Mr. Rezai asserted that restricting the expansion of Iran-China relations is an objective of the arrogant powers of the world and said,:"We hope that Chinese friends will strive to overcome constraints and witness brilliant, developed and stable relations between the two countries."
The Iranian official noted that the adventurism of the United States and some Western countries in the region has undermined their presence in the region, as their interventions in Syria and Iraq has reduced their influence in the region and increased the influence of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Rezaei advised the leaders and authorities of China to promote friendly relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields.
The secretary of the expediency council quoted a statement from the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, who had said in the first years of the victory of the Islamic Revolution that the eastern countries are no less than Westerners to make progress and achieve development. Mr. Rezaei continued that the Islamic Republic of Iran and China are explicit cases of this saying. He then quoted Imam Khomeini saying, "The future of the region and Asia is in the hands of motivated and independent countries in the region."
Following in the visit, Mr. Li Jun offered gratitude for the hospitality of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He described the congratulatory message of Rezaei the secretary-general of the ruling party in China on his reelection as commending.
