10 Palestinians martyred in protests against Trump’s decision

TEHRAN, Dec. 17 (MNA) –According to local Palestinian officials, 10 Palestinians have been martyred since the US president has recognized al-Quds (Jerusaalem) as the capital of “Israeli regime.”  Three thousand else have been wounded.

Since US President Trump announced that US will move its embassy to al-Quds, Muslims across the globe, including in Palestine, have started staging daily protests and rallies to denounce the decision and force the American government to retreat.

One of the Palestinians protesting since then was Ibrahim Abu Thurayyah, a Palestinian fisherman who lost both his legs in 2008 in air bombardment conducted by Israeli jets.

After losing his two legs, Abu Thurayyah who could no longer win the bread with fishing, started washing cars and selling vegetables in markets.

Since December 6, he and his fellow demonstrators decried US President Donald Trump's decision to recognize al-Quds as Israel's capital.

On Friday, Abu Thurayyah was fatally shot in the head by an Israeli sniper.

Another Palestinian, Yaser Sukkar, was killed the same day while protesting at Gaza's border. Two others were killed by the Israeli army in the occupied West Bank, bringing the death toll since Trump's decision in the first week of December to ten Palestinians.

Also Palestinian authorities have recounted that from day one of protests against Trump’s decision, around 300 Palestinians have been taken to prisons by the Israelis.
