Monthly inflation rate stands at 8.2%

TEHRAN, Oct. 25 (MNA) – Statistical Centre of Iran has officially announced that point-to-point Iran’s inflation rate reached 8.2% in the 12-month period leading to the present Iranian calendar month (began October 23).

The overall index in the previous month, spanning from September 23 to October 22, reached 255.5 showing a one-percent growth as compared to the earlier month. The index volume has risen by 1.1% as compared to the corresponding period a year ago.

Percentage of change in the total index of inflation in the twelve-month period leading to the current month has been 8.2% as compared to the same period last year though the figure has remained constant compared to the same notice in the previous Iranian calendar month.

In the previous month, index of food, beverages and tobacco rose 299.4 revealing a 0.1% increase compared to the previous month. Index of food, beverages and tobacco also grew by 11.3% compared with the same month last year. Percentage change in the same group during the twelve months leading to the ongoing Persian months has been 11.7% in comparison to the same period of the previous year.

In the meantime, the index for main food group grew by 11.4 percent in comparison to the same period last year. The twelve-month inflation rate in the same group stood at 11.7 per cent.

Meanwhile, the non-food goods and services experienced an index of 238.1 in the previous month showing a 1.7% increase as compared to the previous months and a 7.5-percent growth as compared to the same period a year ago. The inflation rate for the same group in the 12-month period stood at 6.5 per cent.
