The two officials made the remarks in a Thursday meeting in Russia’s Foreign Ministry headquarters. Rybakov stated “the continuation of Iran and Russia negotiations is of grave importance. Unfortunately, we are witnessing irresponsible behavior from the US which has a direct impact on the process, therefore Iran and Russia cannot be indifferent toward the issue.”
He went on to add “I hope we can counter harmful measures through profound consultation, in addition to negotiating on issues related to the world and international organizations.”
The Russian foreign minister attached a great value to Iran’s presence in the International Conference on Disarmament and Non-proliferation nuclear weapons in Moscow.
Referring to Rybokv’s remarks, denouncing Washington’s anti-JCPOA stance, Araghchi asserted “the irresponsible approach of the US government has created a new situation for the nuclear deal.”
“Washington’s wrong behavior is nothing new, and the country has not been responsible since the sealing of JCPOA in the previous administration.” Araghchi maintained, adding “the nuclear deal is not a bilateral agreement between Iran and the United States, rather it is an international document, backed by the United Nation’s Security Council.
In conclusion, Araghci stated “we should not allow one single country to make decisions for the world, and I believe Iran and Russia have common grounds regarding the issue.”
