Zarif meets with Syrian, Malaysian, Afghan counterparts in NY

TEHRAN, Sep. 22 (MNA) – Following his diplomatic meetings on the sidelines of the UNGA, Iranian FM Zarif met with his Afghan, Syrian, and Malaysian counterparts in New York.

During the Friday meeting between Iranian Foreign Minisster Mohammad Javad Zarif and Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato' Sri Anifah Aman, the two diplomats conferred on bilateral cooperation of Tehran and Kuala Lumpur at international organizations especially the OIC.

The two also exchanged views about regional and Islamic world issues especially the case of Muslims in Myanmar, the deteriorating humanitarian situation of Yemenis, and the Syrian crisis. They emphasized on the solidarity of Muslims to resolve issues and solve disagreements in a friendly and brotherly atmosphere.

In another meeting the Iranian FM Zarif exchanged views with his Afghan counterpart Salahuddin Rabbani.

Also Mr. Zarif met with his Syrian counterpart Walid Mohi Edine al Muallem on Friday in New York.

During the meeting the two senior diplomats of Tehran and Damascus exchanged views on the latest regional development in terms of war on terrorism and battles with the ISIL in Syria as well as other issues of mutual interests.
