Zarif meets counterparts from China, Denmark, Slovenia in NY

TEHRAN, Sep. 22 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif who is New York after the UNGA for ministerial meetings, met with his Chinese, Danish, and Slovenian counterparts as well as UN refugee commissioner.

In a meeting with Filippo Grandi, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Iranian foreign minister and UN commissioner exchanged view on the latest situation of the Syrian and Burmese refugees.

In the opening of their meeting, Mr. Grandi extended his appreciation for hospitality and generosity of the Iranian nation who have offered shelter to Afghan refugees since the breakout of Soviet-war-on-Afghanistan for many years.

During the meeting between Iran’s diplomacy chief Mr. Zarif and Karl Viktor Erjavec, Slovenian Foreign Minister, the two top diplomats discussed the ways to bolster bilateral relations, the JCPOA, international issues, and the referendum in Iraqi Kurdistan.

Mr. Zarif also met with his Danish counterpart Anders Samuelsen, and the two FMs discussed bilateral relations in addition to different issues of regional and international scope. The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (AKA the JCPOA) was also conferred on by the two diplomats.

The JCPOA, regional issues, international mattes, and bilateral relations were also the agenda of talks between Iranian FM Zarif and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
