With a total of six medals, Iran’s wushu squad at the international sportive extravaganza landed second in the medal count table. China ranked first with nine medals (7 gold and 2 silver) while Macau occupied the third position with only two gold medals.
Erfan Ahangarian (60kg), Jafar Shirzadeh (70kg) as well as Hamidreza Ladvar (80kg) claimed titles at Men's Sanda division.
Iran’s only silver medal in wushu was scooped by Arezou Salimi who was competing in Women's Sanda - 52kg.
Representing Iran in Men's Taolu - Daoshu & Gunshu event, Amir Mohammadrezaei stood on the third podium. The other bronze medal for the Persians was bagged by Fatemeh Heidari at Women's Taolu - Nanquan & Nandao.
Overall in the 2017 Summer Unversiade, Iran ranks 10th in the medal standings with a total of eight gold, four silver and eleven silver trophies.
Attracting sportive university students from across the globe, the multi-sport event kicked off on August 19 in Chinese Taipei and will come to an end today on August 30.
