US after undermining Iran's regional status: Larijani

TEHRAN, Jul. 02 (MNA) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said US officials are after undermining Iran’s status in the region.

He made the remarks in a meeting of three heads of power branches at Judiciary Congress held in Tehran on Sunday .

Larijani underlined that the bills passed in US Senate demonstrates that US government persists on undermining Iran’s status in the region and now they proceed their excuses resorting to Iran’s missile program, or raising human rights and terrorism issues to increase pressure on Iran.

He noted that he Islamic Republic will pursue violations of nuclear deal and other decisions made by the US Senate, and will definitely give crushing response.

Elsewhere in his speech, Larijani pointed to the regional issues, saying the developments that occur in the region are pleasing in one hand; "ISIL’s complete suppression in the region was a good news that indicated valuable role of Ayatollah Sistani with his righteous jihad fatwa and establishing Popular Mobilization Forces."

Larijani also hailed Iran's Quds Force, which has made serious efforts in this regard; "Iran's role in preventing the ISIL in the first place and then its suppression was very prominent and all of this efforts destroyed a very malignant terrorist force in the region."
