In a phone conversation on Monday afternoon, Zarif felicitated Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on the nation’s ‘yes’ vote to certain changes in the country’s constitution.
The top Iranian diplomat expressed hope that the achievement would further reinforce stability and peace in Turkey.
Turkey held the referendum on Sunday. The turnout was high with more than 86 percent of the country’s 55 million eligible voters casting ballots on the day. The 51.5 percent of the voters, which is 25 million people, had supported the reforms.
