Iran’s wrestling team stands 3rd at Greco-Roman World Cup

ABADAN, Mar. 17 (MNA) – Iran’s senior Greco-Roman wrestling team defeated Turkey 7-1 on Friday and ranked third at the 2017 World Cup.

The Iranian Greco-Roman wrestlers who had defeated Germany and Kazakhstan on Thursday, were defeated by Russians in their second encounter.

Russian beat Azerbaijan Republic and ranked the champion of this tournament.

The 2017 Greco-Roman Wrestling World Cup opened in Abadan on Thursday morning and ended on Friday.

Eight top world wrestling teams, namely Iran, Russia, Turkey, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Germany, Ukraine and Azerbaijan, had participated in the tournament.
