Iran to attend meeting of OCA Executive Committee

TEHRAN, Feb. 18 (MNA) – Head of Iran’s National Olympics Committee will participate in the 69th Executive Board Meeting of Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) as board member.

Kiyoumars Hashemi will be on a visit to the Japanese city of Sapporo on February 17-28 to participate in the 69th OCA Executive Committee meeting.

The session, to convene in Sapporo’s Grand Hotel, will be chaired by Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti head of OCA.

During the visit, he will also attend the official opening ceremony of the 8th Asian Winter Games to be hosted by Japan from 19-26 of February.

The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) is the apex sports body controlling the sports in Asia. It is one of the five continental associations recognized by the IOC.

The OCA was formed in 1982 and has its permanent headquarters in Kuwait. The main objective of the Olympic Council of Asia is to develop sport, culture and education of Asian youth and to promote international respect, friendship, goodwill & peace through sports.
