Foreign Minister of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn has led a high-ranking political delegation to Tehran at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif.
During his two-day stay in Tehran, Asselborn is scheduled to hold talks with Zarif, President Hassan Rouhani, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and Head of Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani.
A number of economic cooperation documents in support of mutual investment will also be signed between the two countries.
Back in October, Luxembourg's Economy Minister Etienne Schneider visited Tehran for a three-day stay and held talks with his Iranian counterpart Ali Tayebnia on further expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries in the near future.
President of Luxembourg’s Chamber of Deputies Mars Di Bartolomeo also held a meeting with President Rouhani last January in Tehran, where the two sides stressed continuation of consultation on a wide range of regional and international issues.
