National squad to compete at Karate 1-Premier League

TEHRAN, Jan. 18 (MNA) – National Iranian karate team will depart for Paris to take part at the first round of 2017 Karate 1-Premier League.

Featuring a record-breaking number of participants, the 2017 edition of the Karate 1-Premier League in Paris is scheduled to be held in the French city from January 27-29.

So far, 1096 competitors from around 80 nations have already confirmed their participation in one of the flagship events of international Karate.

Accordingly, Hamideh Abbasali, Fatemeh Chalaki, Samira Malekipour, Saeid Ahmadi, Ebrahim Hassanbeigi, Bahman Asgari, Zabihollah Poursheib, Aliasghar Asiabari, Sajjad Ganjzadeh, Mahdi Khodabakhsh as well as Iman Sanchuli will be led by Shahram Heravi to represent Iran in the sportive event.

The tournament will be controlled by over 150 referees, while the stands are expected to fill up during the three days of the tournament as in previous editions.

The Karate1 Premier League is the most important league event in the world of Karate. It comprises of a number of the most prominent Karate competitions and endeavors to bring together the best Karate athletes in the world in an open championship of unprecedented scale and quality.

Initiated in 2011 with two tournaments held in Paris and Istanbul, the Karate1-Premier League- has made exponential progress in terms of magnitude and status of the tournaments as well as the number of participants and countries represented.
