Shiraz, Cyprus Intl. universities sign coop. agreement

TEHRAN, Dec. 25 (MNA) – An MoU to foster academic cooperation was inked between University of Shiraz and Cyprus International University (CIU).

As reported by the Public Relations Department of University of Shiraz, the Chancellor of Cyprus International University Halil Nadiri said CIU was ready to define and implement cooperation plans with the Iranian counterpart.

The visiting official further expressed willingness to bolster ties with University of Shiraz in various arenas including tackling portable water issues of Cyprus as well as publishing a scientific journal in the European country’s international university.

Deputy Chancellor of University of Shiraz Seyed Aliakbar Safavi said that the academic center was determined to further elevate scientific cooperation at an international level.

Safavi underscored that University of Shiraz was after implementation of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in a bid to promote international communications in the true sense of the word.

The official also stated that the two universities could join hand in reinvigoration of tourism industry in both sides.

Also, Director of International Affairs Department of University of Shiraz Zohreh Azimifar said that the MoU would provide proper grounds for exchange of students and instructors, undertaking joint projects, holding courses of study in addition to international conferences.
