The Iranian President Hassan Rouhani who is visiting the Kazakh capital city of Astana, in his Thursday meeting with Nazarbayev offered greetings over the 25th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and restated that Iran was the first country which immediately recognized the new state of Kazakhstan. Mr. Rouhani stressed that continuation, development, and strengthening of all-out friendly relations and interactions with the friendly and neighboring country of Kazakhstan is warmly welcomed.
“We are determined to enhance the level of relations and cooperation with Kazakhstan in all areas of common interests,” reiterated the Iranian president who praised Kazakhstan as an Islamic country with historic ties with Iran.
Mr. Rouhani highlighted the visits made by the two heads of states to respective capitals and described the visits as an incentive for boosting bilateral ties. He asserted that the last round of the joint economic commission of the two countries in Tehran accomplished many positive steps toward developing and bolstering bilateral relations and the path should be treaded till more ease at trade relations, banking ties, and visa issuance.
“Iran and Kazakhstan have always been supportive of each other at international venues,” said the Iranian president hailing the positive contributions of Kazakhstan in the course of Iran’s nuclear talks, “and we should still make more efforts to reinforce the regional and international cooperation between the two states.”
Mr. Rouhani referred to the rail route between the two countries and described the under-construction route an important step in developing the bilateral relations and improving the regional ties.
“The Iranian companies and corporations of the private sector are eager to participate in Kazakhstan’s sections of energy, agriculture, civil construction, and engineering services,” articulated the top of Iran’s executive branch, “group visa issuance for tourists and traders will hugely contribute to these goals.”
The two heads of states agreed to attend another round of talks with attendance of governors of central banks of the two countries to negotiate new steps in banking relations and opening branches of banks in their countries.
