Iranian wushu artists land 2nd in Asia

TEHRAN, Sep. 05 (MNA) – Iranian wushu practitioners have snatched over a dozen medals to become vice-champion at the 9th edition of Asian Junior Wushu Championships in China.

Attended by wushu teams from 20 Asian nations, the 9th edition of Asian Wushu Championships came to its end today morning Taoyuan City of Taiwan while it had started on Thursday September 01.

The National Iranian squad of Sanda and Taolu wushu in both men and women categories managed to scoop 7 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals in order to become vice-champions of Asia following title-winner China. The Vietnamese athletes stood on the third podium.

Iran’s Duel team (comprising Mohsen Ahmadi, Reza Khalafzadeh and Amir Mohammadrezaei) in addition to Morteza Azimi, Moein Taghavi, Yazdan Mirzaei, Erfan Ahangarian, Shahrbanoo Mansourian as we as Elahae Mansourian snatched Iran’s seven gold medals.

The three silver medals of the Iranian outfit were received by Saeid Fazeli, Reza Khalafzadeh and Farshad Arabi. Meanwhile, Soheila Mansourian, Sedigheh Daryaei, Maryam Hashemi, Ashkan Dolfani and Mahdi Mohammadi begged five bronze medals for the country.
