Rice, canned meat and tea were distributed among two areas in the Syrian Latakia province as part of a two-ton humanitarian aid delivered to low-income families, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"Low-income families of the Darius and Heriada (Latakia province) inhabited area have received 1 ton (each) of humanitarian cargos with rice, sugar, tea, canned meat and fish," the ministry said in a daily bulletin posted on its website on Saturday.
Almost 14 million Syrian people remain in deep need of receiving humanitarian aid, which cannot be delivered due to continuous fighting, according to UN estimates.
