Iran's documentary to vie at 2 intl. festivals

TEHRAN, Aug. 15 (MNA) – Iranian documentary ‘Bard’ directed by Hamid Jafari will go on screen at two international film festivals in Paris and New Caledonia.

Bard (meaning stone in Persian) will vie at the 15th edition of Silhouette Festival in Paris and then at the 10th edition of Ânûû-rû Âboro Film Festival in New Caledonia, on August 26 to September 10 and October 14-22, respectively.

Bard has won Diploma of Honor for Best Director and the award for best short documentary at the Cinéma Vérité. It has also bagged the award for best creative documentary at the Visions du Réel.

The 25-minute movie narrates the story of a woman who leaves home to the mountains each day with a sledgehammer and crowbar, breaks rock and sells them to afford her family life.
