Iran’s exports to surge $10bn

TEHRAN, Aug. 12 (MNA) – Iran deputy industry minister said the country’s exports value will increase by 10 billion dollars in the current Iranian year as compared with the earlier year (ended March 20).

Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade Reza Rahmani made the remarks on Thursday on the sidelines of a ceremony to applaud industrialists, miners, and top associations of Zanjan province.

“Iran pursues several major economic plans in line with Resistance Economy policies in order to climb out of recession including activation of 7,500 small and medium-sized production units,” he added.

The official recalled that 150 top large-scale production units are being implemented 35 of which will come to stream by the end of the current Iranian calendar year.

Rahamani said large-scale manufacturing teams play a vital role in the production chain which leads to increased supply of basic commodities; “major units, which can boost the country’s economy, produce wide-ranging goods like steel, cement, household appliances, automobiles among the others.”

Deputy minister of industry went on to note that “President Rouhani defined sustainable prosperity, growing non-oil exports and generating new job opportunities as three goals of his administration in the new Iranian year.”

“The Iranian government will follow up these three goals, specially creation of job opportunities for the younger generation,” he concluded.
