Bahram Ghasemi, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman, voiced deep concern over the escalation of terrorist activities in neighboring countries, and called on all countries in the region to combat terrorism in a joint, aligned effort.
“Terror and violence in any form and at any time and place, are condemnable and unacceptable,” he stressed.
Gunmen stormed into a police station in the city of Almaty in Kazakhstan on Monday and killed four police officers and injured a number of others, according to local sources. Following the attack, Almaty authorities announced a red level anti-terror alert and conducted an extensive anti-terror operation in the city. The operation is now over, and red level alert has been lifted.
