Sitting v-ballers win title in Germany

TEHRAN, Jul. 19 (MNA) –  Iran’s national squad of sitting volleyball managed to finish first at Germany’s international tournament by defeating the hosts in the final encounter.

The final showdown of the event was held between Men's national sitting volleyball team of Iran and their German rivals in Leverkusen where the Persians came out victorious 3-0.

Being the only undefeated outfit in the tournament, Iran won the fixture against Germany in straight sets (25-22, 26-25, 25-18).

The Iranian squad had previously secured three wins against China and Germany on the first day of the international tournament in the European country.

Accordingly, Iran’s sitting volleyball players stood on top of the podium with 4 wins while the country’s Mahdi Babadi was selected as the best player at the event.

National Iranian team, who are preparing for 2016 Rio Paralympic Games, are scheduled to leave Germany for the Netherlands to play two games against national Dutch team in Amsterdam.
