National table tennis team lands 29th in world rankings

TEHRAN, Jul. 10 (MNA) – Iranian national men’s table tennis team has jumped three places to stand 29th in the latest ITTF rankings.

The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) calculates team rankings on the basis of the top three players in each country.

Accordingly, given the status of Noshad Alamian, Nima Alamian and Afshin Norouzi as Iran’s leading paddlers, the country’s position in the latest rankings released by ITTF has improved from 32nd to 29th place.

The new position marks the best ranking ever achieved by the Iranian men's national table tennis team.

In women’s section, the country’s status has remained at the constant position of 46th over the past month in view of individual rankings held by Neda Shahsavari, Mahjubeh Omrani and Maryam Samet as Iran’s top three female table tennis players in the latest ITTF standings.
