Bartolone felicitates Larijani on re-election

TEHRAN, Jun. 10 (MNA) – Larijani’s French counterpart, Claude Bartolone, on a phone conversation, felicitated the re-election of Larijani as the speaker of Iran’s Parliament.

“In the term ahead, we hope the bilateral cooperation of Iran and France especially in the area of legislation would further develop,” said Claude Bartolone, the President of the National Assembly of France to his Iranian counterpart, Ali Larijani, during the phone dialogue they had on Thursday.

According to the communiqué released by the official website of Iran’s Parliament, Bartolone initiated the call to extend his greetings on the occasion of Larijani’s latest success in being re-elected as the speaker of the new round of Iran’s parliament.

Bartolone also voiced hope to have a visit to Tehran in the near future, saying that French National Assembly is interested in mediating expansion of ties between Iran and the European Union in the areas of war on terror, expansion of bilateral relations, especially economic relations, to stabilize peace and security in the region.

“I firmly believe that the most important issue of the day is terrorism, and Iran should also play its role in dealing with it, and without Iran the region would not witness a stable peace,” contended the French top law maker.

Larijani, for his part, thanked the French legislator for congratulating Larijani’s re-elation, and stressed that the talks between MPs of the two countries can ease the expansion of bilateral ties especially in terms of economics.
