In a message Friday night, President Rouhani congratulated the Iranian outfit over their 5th crowning in the 34th edition of the Greco-Roman wrestling world cup.
The Iranian team captured the Greco-Roman World Cup title for the fifth time in seven years after defeating rivals Russia 8-0 in the final.
The 34th edition of the game kicked off in the Iranian city of Shiraz on Thursday, during which the hosts won victories against Ukraine (8-0), Azerbaijan (7-1) and Turkey (7-1).
Before this year, Iran had claimed the World Cup team title in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014.
