Iran finishes 6th at AJC 2016

TEHRAN, Apr. 17 (MNA) – Iran national judo team bagged one silver and one bronze to rank sixth in Asian Judo Championships (AJC) in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent.

The Iranian three-member squad conceded a 3-2 defeat against the Mongolia in the team section of 2016 Asian Judo Championships.

Meanwhile, Iranian Olympian judokas Javad Mahjoub and Saeid Molaei out powered Mongolian rivals.

Overall, Mongolia claimed the title of the tournament with 3 gold and 2 bronze medals as well as three fifth ranking in the individual section of the event which had attracted 235 judokas from 30 countries.

Alireza Khojasteh secured a silver medal and Saeid Molaei received a bronze while Javad Mahjoub stood in the fifth place for the Iranian outfit to finish sixth in the 25th Asian Judo Championships which convened from 15th to 17th April 2016 at Sports Complex, Tashkent.
