Iran to top pet-chem producers in world: Jahangiri

TEHRAN, Apr. 14 (MNA) – Iranian First Vice-President Es’hagh Jahangiri voiced hope that following the completion of under-construction projects, Iran would be the No.1 producer and exporter of petrochemical products in the world.

“Currently there are 75$ billion projects and plants of petrochemical industry under construction which are hoped to put Iran at the top of the industry after being tapped,” said Es’hagh Jahangiri on the opening ceremony of the 10th edition of the Iran Plast Fair on Wednesday.

Jahangiri boasted that in a region ravaged by war and insecurity, Iran is the center of stability and peace, while the economy of Iran is challenged with unemployment, welfare, and development.

“Having natural resources like gas and oil, as attractions of investment in Iran, we are the only nation in the world who are able to overcome the challenges and, as the domestic capacity is high, we are expected to plan in a way to be the center of development in the world,” reiterated Mr. Jahangiri.
