Interior minister in Vienna to attend CND meeting

TEHRAN, Mar. 14 (MNA) – Iranian interior minister arrived in Vienna on Sunday to take part at the 59th session of CND attended by high-ranking officials of world countries.

The 59th Session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND), along with its UNGASS Preparatory Session will take place from 14th to 22nd March 2016 in Vienna, Austria.

Minister of the Interior Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli arrived in Vienna of Austria on Sunday evening and will participate in the CND which meets each year to discuss the global state of drug control and adopt resolutions to guide the way forward.

The Iranian minister is to deliver a keynote speech in the opening ceremony of the conference.

He will confer with officials of different countries for consultations on collective campaign of the United Nations member states against drug-trafficking on the sidelines of the conference.

The Vienna meeting will include more than seventy-four sidelines on several issues like review of new drugs, HIV as well as drug trafficking.

More than 1,500 people from various countries as well as representatives of civil society and non-governmental organizations will join in the session.
