Russian official due in Iran to discuss Caspian region issues

TEHRAN, Feb. 27 (MNA) – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gregory Karasin will arrive in Iran on 2 March for a two-day visit for talks on Caspian region and Central-Asian issues, Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Sat.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation announced on Saturday Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gregory Karasin will confer with Iranian Deputy FM for Asia-Pacific Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour on issues related to the regions of the Caspian Sea, Central-Asia and Caucasus.

The two sides will also discuss the Ukrainian issue and the process of Minsk agreement for settling the conflict, as well as a number of bilateral issues between Iran and Russia.

Iran and Russia hold regular consultations on regional issues such as the ones related to the Caspian Sea and Central-Asian regions in a bid to boost cooperation and collaboration on regional affairs.

Ebrahim Rahimpour visited Moscow January 7, 2016 and held talks with deputy foreign ministers Karasin and Igor Morgulov on ways to expand bilateral relations.
