Slovakia to take steps to boost ties with Iran

TEHRAN, Feb. 22 (MNA) – Slovakia's outgoing ambassador to Tehran expressed hope to take great strides to improve relations with Iran, in the light of new developments in post-sanctions era.

Slovakia's outgoing Ambassador Ján Bóry, at the end of his mission in Iran, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Sunday and discussed the prospects of bilateral relations during a farewell visit here on Sunday.

Assessing the relations between the two countries, Bóry said the level of bilateral ties is not according to the various capacities the two countries enjoy.

Zarif, for his part, underlined that Iran is ready to expand cooperation with the European country.

Pointing to the official and popular ties between Bratislava and Tehran, Zarif said Iran is ready to expand political, economic and cultural cooperation with Slovakia.

He expressed hope for further success in developing relations between the two countries.
