Extremism, terrorism major threat to global security

TEHRAN, Feb. 03 (MNA) – Iran’s Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani called extremism and terrorism as the major security threats in today's world.

Expressing concern over the increasing of false intricacies in Syria, he undelined the Islamic Republic of Iran’s support for the political process and continuing dialogue to achieve a political solution in Syria, adding that the insistence of some countries for the presence of terrorist and extremist groups has led into the formation of foundamental challenges on the way of negotiation process for peaceful settlement of the Syrian crisis.

Shamkhani called JCPOA implementation and sanctions removal a new chapter in strengthening of trust between Iran and non-hostile Western countries.

“Despite Iran’s good will to implement JCPOA and effective efforts of some European countries to speed up the program, the double-standard behavior of the United States of America remains a serious concern,” Shamkhani underlined.
