Saudi Arabia ‘rogue state’ in ME

TEHRAN, Oct. 31 (MNA) – Iran’s Parliament speaker has told a group of Yemeni revolutionary forces Yemen is a priority for the Islamic Republic’s foreign policy.

Ali Larijani received a delegation of the visiting members of Supreme Revolutionary Council of Yemen headed by Vice Chairman Naif al-Qanis on Saturday where Larijani ensured them of Islamic Republic of Iran’s support for Yemen as he described as a ‘nation deeply-rooted in history, yet suffering oppression.’

“Saudi Arabia has committed crimes in Yemen documented by the evidence provided by destruction of the country’s infrastructure and killing thousands of civilians; the scope of destruction is unprecedented in history, and this clearly shows that Saudi Arabia is a rogue state in the region, despite the fact that some countries do not evaluate the situation accurately in Yemen,” Larijani told the meeting, “we closely watch the situation in Yemen however and know that Yemenis had engaged in an unbalanced battle; Yemeni crisis is a priority for Iran’s foreign policy and we will be  on your side in any situation,” he added.

“Yemen effectively aborted the plans by the Saudi-led coalition, which promoted its position among EU countries,” Larijani asserted.

Naif al-Qanis, for his part, hailed Islamic Republic of Iran’s support for his country and people and said that Yemenis would never forget this conduct; “the Saudi regime purportedly fights in Yemen to win legitimacy to deposed President Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi; however, the reality reveals the domineering character of Saudi Arabia evident in its misguided attempts to subjugate Yemen; however Yemeni revolution was seen and interpreted as coup d’état and provided a pretext for crackdown on Yemeni nation, with support of our friends, we will make Yemen a cemetery for Saudi forces,” he told the meeting.
