'A Brief Encounter' in Poland, Hungary

TEHRAN, Oct. 25 (MNA) – Iranian animation A Brief Encounter, directed by Somayeh Yazdanpanah, will attend festivals in Poland and Hungary as well as Tehran International Short Film Festival.

Talking about the animation, Yazdanpanah said “A Brief Encounter was produced for Tehran’s 9th Animation Festival. Although it is short (2 min 36 sec), it is a specialized animation which I produced independently for the first time.”

It tells the story of a dragon who lives in the suburbs and burns the city’s trash. One day, on the way home he meets a small girl and a new story develops. The Iranian work deals with the themes of love and the transient nature of life.

Yazdanpanah added that the animation’s topic is based on a psychological idea and explained “since I am an illustrator, I tried to display the story through pictures.”

The animation has attended several international festivals including Switzerland’s Fantoche International Animation Film Festival. It will also attend festivals in Poland and Hungary and Tehran International Short Film Festival.
