Negotiating team off to Vienna for 1st JCPOA meeting with 5+1

TEHRAN, Oct. 19 (MNA) – Iranian negotiating team is slated to attend a joint commission meeting with the representatives of 5+1 on executing JCPOA in Vienna on Monday.

The Iranian team is comprised of Deputy Foreign Ministers Seyed Abbas Araqchi, Majid Takht-Ravanchi and Spokesman of the Atomic Energy Agency of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi.

According to an informed source in Iranian embassy in Vienna, the first joint commission meeting between representatives of Iran and the 5+1 group of countries is scheduled to be held at 11:00 AM local time at Palais Coburg and continue until 14:00. It is likely that Araghchi as Iran’s senior negotiator would attend a press conference afterwards.

Meanwhile, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said on Sunday that Iran will enforce the Additional Protocol voluntarily and temporarily once the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is put into effect. The IAEA statement also mentions that Iran has notified the agency that Tehran will fully implement the Modified Code 3.1 to its Safeguards Agreement.

The European Union also adopted the legislative framework for lifting all of its nuclear-related economic and financial sanctions on 18 October, 2015.

In a joint statement on implementation of JCPOA released on Sunday by Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU Foreign Policy Chief Mogherini, it was mentioned that “Iran will now start the implementation of its nuclear-related commitments with the objective of full and effective completion. The IAEA will make the necessary preparations for the monitoring and verification of these steps.”
