Iran’s nuclear negotiating team heads for NY

TEHRAN, Sep. 22 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and nuclear negotiating team departed Tehran for New York on Tuesday.

The Iranian nuclear negotiating team including Mohammad Javad Zarif, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Hamid Baeidinejad and Majid Takht-Ravanchi will consult with 5+1 about legal, technical and executive aspects of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

They will also hold a joint meeting with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini during their visit to New York.

This will be the first meeting between Iran and 5+1 in the two months since the conclusion of the Vienna accord.

Under the Vienna accord, Iran and 5+1 have 60-90 days to approve the deal.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will also leave Tehran for New York on Thursday to take part and deliver speech in the 70th Regular Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 70).
