Daie’s first win of season

TEHRAN, Aug. 27 (MNA) – The fifth round matches of Iran’s Pro League of soccer were played on Wednesday with two scoreless draws and two edge passes.

Padideh of Mashhad and Rah Ahan of Tehran both winners of the last round were edge passed by Saba of Qom and Siah Jamegan of Mashhad who were edge passed in the fourth round.

Abolfazl Ebrahimi scored for Saba of Qom at the 85th minute when visiting Padideh of Mashhad did not have that much time to reach a draw.

In Mashhad, Siah Jamegan of the city were awarded a penalty at the 59th minute and Reza Enayati shout it out to score the sole goal of the fixture for the hosts and secure the second 3-points of the season for the new Pro-division club.

Both Ahvaz-based clubs of Esteghlal of Ahvaz and Esteghlal of Khuzestan managed to bag home one point from their away fixtures in Isfahan and Tabriz where the hosts Tractorsazi and Zowbahan were disappointed.

But this round can be a turning point for Perspolis of Tehran and Saba of Qom as both teams succeeded to record their first victories of the season under their highly-criticized head coaches, Branco Ivancovic and Ali Daie.

The last fixture of this round is going to be held in Tehran where Esteghlal of Tehran and Naft of Tehran will line up against each other.
