Sorahi to be premiered at Italian filmfest

TEHRAN, Aug. 17 (MNA) – Saeed Nejati's short film Sorahi (Chalice) will be screened in the competition section of 18th Religion Today Filmfestival in Italy.

A production of IYCS, Sorahi along with four other Iranian short films will be showcased at 18th Religion Today Filmfestival in Italy.

The film narrates the story of a young cleric who endangers his career and position for protecting the secret of a family.

Saeed Nejati is among experienced filmmakers of Qom province whose short film Sorahi will experience its first international presence in Italy.

Since 1997, Religion Today has been the foremost international and itinerant film festival dedicated to Cinema and Religions for a culture of peace and dialogue between faiths, cultures, peoples and individuals.

It promotes a journey “exploring the differences”, both in religious practices and beliefs and in cinematic styles and languages, towards a mutual enrichment through reciprocal knowledge and comparison.
