Zarif off to Moscow for bilateral talks

TEHRAN, Aug. 17 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif left Tehran for Moscow on Monday to hold consultations with Russian officials.

Zarif is scheduled to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on deepening and development of bilateral relations, regional and international cooperation, including the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking.

The two foreign ministers will focus on further development of bilateral relations, including in the light of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran’s nuclear program.

Consultations over the conclusion of Iran's nuclear negotiations with the 5+1, cooperation between the two countries in the field, as well as the attempts to establish peace and stability in the region is on Zarif's agenda of visit to Russia.
