Iran ranks 8th in intl. Math Competition

BLAGOEVGRAD, Aug. 02 (MNA) – Iranian students of Sharif University have won 3 gold and 3 silver medals in the International Mathematics Competition for University Students (IMC) in Bulgaria.

Iran’s mathematics team comprising six students from Sharif University of Technology participated in the 22nd IMC and managed to rank the 8th in the international event.

Pouya Honaryar, Mohammad-Amin Nejat-Bakhsh and Tina Torkaman each won a gold medal at the event, while Hassan Gharedaghi, Seyed Mohammad-Hossein Salehi and Amir-Hossein Ekhlasi each claimed a silver medal.

The International Mathematics Competition for University Students (IMC) is an annual mathematics competition open to all undergraduate students of mathematics.

The IMC 2015 was held from 27 July to 2 August, 2015 in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria.
