Development of ties with neighbors Iran’s top priority

TEHRAN, Jul. 19 (MNA) – President Hassan Rouhani stressed Iran is ready for consultations with friendly countries in the region, including Qatar, to strengthen stability and security in the region.

In a phone conversation with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani on Saturday, President Rouhani called for collective efforts by all regional governments to prevent Takfiri terrorist groups from making further advances.

He said that development of regional countries depends on guaranteeing regional security.

"We have to join hands to prevent the activities of Takfiri terrorist groups," he underlined.

Congratulating the Qatari emir on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Rouhani referred to the nuclear deal recently reached between Iran and the six states and said Iran deal proves that regional issues and differences among countries have to be resolved on the table of negotiations.

President underlined that with a nuclear deal now in place, Iran's top priority is expansion of ties with the neighboring countries.

The Qatari Emir also expressed happiness with the agreement over Tehran's nuclear program and said that dialogue is the only way out of regional problems.
