Iran, Italy set up joint autodesign co.

TEHRAN, Jul. 12 (MNA) – Iran Khodro decided to establish a joint Iranian-Italian company on car design.

In order to develop new products and complete the value chain of automotive industry and due to weaknesses in the design and related procedures, Iranian car manufacturing company, Iran Khodro (IKCO), signed a trilateral agreement with two companies, Iranian Tisser, and Italy's BDI on Saturday.

Noting that weakness in car design has always been a weak point in the Iranian auto industry, experts said the establishment of the company is in line with fulfillment of Iran's 20-year Vision Plan in auto making industry.

Iranian auto makers have so far played a minor role in car design and this part of Iran's auto making has usually been carried out by foreign companies.
