Iranian team went on to win the first set 25-20, the second 25-21 and the third 25-20. The straight-sets win was Iranians' second World League victory over the defending champions, repeating the same result gained on Friday.
In its previous encounter with US which was supported by thousands of roaring fans, Iran managed to trounce US, who had won all its six previous matches, in three successive sets (25-19, 29-27, 25-20) in the fifth week of the tournament.
Iran is also set to take on Poland on June 26 and 28 and will play against Russia on July 3 and 4.
