Cooperation needed to halt regional conflicts

TEHRAN, Jun. 19 (MNA) – On a telephone conversation with Qatari Emir on Thursday, President Rouhani stressed the vitality of regional cooperation to put an end to conflicts among Muslim nations.

Rouhani, while expressing sorrow on regional clashes and underlining the necessity of cooperation in this regard, said the countries of the region are suffering from terrorism as the terrorist acts are harmful for all Middle Eastern nations and prevent regional development and reinforcement of relations.

He also called on cooperation on Yemeni crisis and delivering urgent humanitarian aid to the defenseless Yemenis.

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, for his part, felicitated the Holy Month of Ramadan to Dr. Rouhani and asked him to deliver his felicitations to Iran’s Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

Noting Iran’s critical role in resolving regional issues, Qatari Emir stated it is a task for all countries of the region to try to establish peace and security.

“There might be differences of opinion in some issues, but the two countries are friend, brother and neighbor,” Sheikh Tamim added.
