In the 85-kilogram category, Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler Saeed Yousefi routed his rivals to the final game, defeating the India 2-0 and the Uzbekistan 7-2 on Sunday in the morning.
Amin Mirzadeh the other member of Iran’s Greco-Roman team put up an impressive show pinning his Indian opponent to the mat and overpowering his Kirgiz rival with an 8-2 score, to get to the final of the 100-kilogram class.
Also the 46-kilogram freestyler of Iran Amir Parasteh defeated his Kazakh opponent 10-0 and got to the final game.
Competing in the 42kg category of the Free Style event, Mehdi Eshghi beat the Turkmen wrestler 10-0 and passed the Kazakh with an immediate win step on the final mat.
The 50kg freestyler, Reza Alijanzadeh lost to his Japanese opponent and went for the third place game fighting for bronze.
With two finalists, the Greco-Roman division of Iranian national team won the title in the Asian Cadet Wrestling Championship underway in Indira Gandhi Sports Complex of New Delhi.
Representatives from 17 countries, namely, India, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea, North Korea, Syria, Iraq, the UAE, Thailand, Mongolia and Pakistan, are present in the tournament.
