2 volleyball players miss Russia matches

TEHRAN, Jun. 08 (MNA) – Farhad Zarif, the 2013 World Best Libero, and middle blocker Saman Faezi will miss the two World League Pool B matches against Russia due to injuries.

Two Iranian volleyball players, Farhad Zarif and Saman Faezi will not be accompanying the Iranian squad in the two World League Pool B matches against Russia due to their injuries.

The two players will be replaced by Mehdi Marandi and Ali Shafiee in the matches against Russia to be held on June 13 and 14 in the Russian city of Kazan.

According to the Head of the national volleyball team Amir Khoshkhabar, Saman Faezi sustained leg injury during the match against Poland and Zarif has been coping with a wrist injury for a long time. The two will return home for full recovery.

Iran has lost its four games against US and Poland in the 2015 FIVB World League.

Poland with a total of 10 point is currently on the top of Pool B with the US in the second followed by Iran and Russia each with one point.
