 Iran’s role in region constructive

TEHRAN, Jun. 01 (MNA) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian rejects the recent Saudi allegations against Iran, stressing Iran’s constructive role in the region.

“Iran has always played a constructive role in the region,” Amir-Abdollahian said on Sunday in response to a claim by Saudi Foreign Minister against Iran.

Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir, while meeting with the Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry in Cairo on Sunday, announced that his country will not 'stand still' as Iran 'intervenes in the region.'

Amir-Abdollahian highlighted Iran’s sincere policicies towards regional countries, saying that, “Tehran, unlike some countries that make instrumental use of terrorism and play with the regional security, strongly supports Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and any country exposed to the terrorist threats.”

Iran supports the regional peace and stability, Iranian diplomat said, adding that “the security of Iran, Iraq, Yemen and Persian Gulf states are intertwined.”

Hilighting Iran’s willingness to support good relations with Riyadh, Amir-Abdollahian said Iran expects Saudi Arabia to play a constructive role in the region and by adopting correct and precautious diplomacy prevent the spread of war, strengthening of terrorism and intensification of insecurity.
